Port Fire Service

The Port Fire Service is a specialized unit responsible for fire prevention, firefighting, and emergency response within port premises and onboard vessels docked at the port. The Port's Fire Service wing is well equipped with mobile firefighting appliances like foam tenders, water lorries, and trailer pumps to handle all fire emergencies onboard ships as well as the shore installations. Regularly conducts drills and excercises in Coordination with CISF and port users for emergency preparedness.

  • Headed by a Fire and Assistant Safety Officer, reporting to the Dock Master / Harbour Master.

  • Supported by Assistant Fire Officers, Safety Inspectors, and Sub-Officers.
